A Tip for Keeping Your New Year’s Resolutions

We’re about a week into 2016! We’re enjoying the start of a new year and filled with anticipations for what’s to come. 2016 is a blank slate that’s waiting to be filled with many goals, challenges, and memories. What are your New Year’s resolutions? How are you keeping up with them?

Now is a great time to check how we’re doing with our resolutions. Research suggests that only 8% of Americans who make New Year’s resolutions are able to achieve them. Keeping this in mind and being mindful of the fact that resolutions are difficult to keep and achieve, can help us plan well for success. So here is a tip for achieving our goals this year!

Think: What Is My Dream?

Why is your New Year’s resolution important to you? How will it change you and help others? Sometimes, we make resolutions that we think are good for us. But if we don’t know why these goals are important to our lives, it’s hard to keep working toward them even if they are supposed to be good for us.

We have a special power called the power of thought that was given to humans. And our dreams are one of the most powerful of the thoughts we create. Dreams are the things we constantly think about all the time. They come from deep within and inspire us as if they have a mind of their own, fueling our days with enthusiasm and vitality.

Our dreams are a natural source of willpower, because it’s something we truly believe in and want to achieve. It’s often guided by a sense of purpose and is telling us what we were meant to do in life. So what are your dreams? What are your ideals and aspirations?

When you remember what your dreams are, you’ve started to set your long-term goals. These goals are the big dreams and aspirations you want to reach over the course of 10 years, 20 years, and so on. So now, we need to decide to take smaller steps to reach them. This is what the middle-term and short-term goals are for.

How many of the resolutions you made for 2016 will help you achieve your dreams? Are they a part of your short-term, middle-term, or long-term goals? These resolutions may be the most important ones for your life, and the ones you’ll most likely stick to and achieve!
