A new movie based upon the actual experiences of its executive producer, World Teacher Ryuho Okawa. It is set to be released only a short time following the book of the same name, which is highly recommended reading, as it explains in great detail that which is depicted in the movie. The movie has won awards at 46 film festivals throughout seven countries, and unsurprisingly so, for there is a great interest in and need for exorcists amidst much of humanity, despite it not being something openly spoken about at this time due to secular influences in the world that deny the spiritual truths.
Focused primarily upon the life of Sayuri, a part-time waitress at a coffee shop. Whilst living a seemingly normal life, Sayuri is in fact able to perceive spirits and is in possession of a variety of spiritual abilities. In the midst of her work as a waitress, Sayuri helps various customers to remediate problems in their lives with the use of her spiritual abilities.
As the movie progresses, Sayuri becomes more active in the practice of exorcism and a friend begins to work alongside her in order to help people resolve problems that are with a spiritual origin, such as lost souls who have yet to move on and are causing disturbances to their relatives.
Eventually Sayuri encounters a more powerful type of malevolent spirit, a devil. The viewer is treated to an extraordinary demonstration of the method of exorcism, which is explained thoroughly in the book, The Real Exorcist. Without giving too much away, it will suffice to say that the viewer will learn of the boundless power of God and the manner in which it may be mediated through faithful and spiritually-attuned humans.
The production and cinematography of The Real Exorcist are visually excellent and the movie depicts the most advanced special effects of any HS Pictures film as of yet. The movie likewise features an exquisite musical composition written by Ryuho Okawa, performed by his daughter Sayaka Okawa, who also wrote the screenplay of the movie, and arranged by both Sayaka Okawa and Yuichi Mizusawa.
Throughout the The Real Exorcist the viewer is able to witness an astonishingly accurate depiction of what life is like for those who are spiritually sensitive; those who already experience such sensitivity will recognize the great accuracy in this, and those who are unsure of their spiritual sensitivity will learn to identify the presence and influence of spirits so as to better comprehend such dynamics. In this way, The Real Exorcist is truly an incredible movie due to its ability to impart genuine spiritual teachings in an entertaining and highly accessible manner. The act of watching The Real Exorcist leaves the viewer with a sense of wanting to further embrace their own spiritual work in the world, and it is a truly inspiring production.
