Study Group on Chapter 5 of The Laws of the Sun — “The Golden Age”

Recently, we revisited Chapter 5 of The Laws of the Sun, titled “The Golden Age.” As we read it again, we felt something different from before. We did not feel as though we were simply studying history. We felt as though we were looking into our own past and, at the same time, into our present.

As we read carefully, we began to sense that we may be living at a turning point in history.

The Spiritual Theme of Each Civilization

Chapter 5 begins with “Signs of a New Humankind.” Although the book was written in the 1980s, it clearly looks toward the twenty-first century. When we read the term “new humanity,” we should not understand it merely as a social trend. We should understand it as a spiritual direction.

According to this chapter, each civilization cultivated a different dimension of the human soul.

In the Ramudia Civilization, we refined sensibility.

In the Mu Civilization, we learned to explore light energy through both scientific and spiritual research.

In the Atlantean Civilization, we strengthened reason.

In our present civilization, we are cultivating intelligence.

When we see history in this way, we understand that the rise and fall of civilizations is not accidental. We are participating in a long-term spiritual growth process.

Why Do We Emphasize One Million Years?

The Laws of the Sun describes three hundred million years of history, yet it places special emphasis on the last one million years.

Why should we focus on this period?

Because within this span, we can reflect on what we have learned—and what we have forgotten.

If we limit our understanding of religion to two or three thousand years, we see only fragments. When we expand our historical perspective, we begin to see unity. When we widen our vision, we naturally grow in tolerance.

The Fall of Atlantis

When we read about the Atlantean Civilization, we see a powerful warning.

Atlantis flourished for ten thousand years as a highly advanced civilization. Yet it collapsed, and the continent sank beneath the sea. After this destruction, we required another ten thousand years to recover to a similar level of development.

Why did this happen?

Two extremes divided society:

We pursued scientific materialism and denied spirituality.

We embraced spiritualism and rejected reason.

When we separated spirit and reason, we weakened the foundation of civilization itself.

What Do We See Today?

When we look at our present world, we cannot ignore the similarities.

Today, artificial intelligence symbolizes the power of scientific materialism. We have created tools of extraordinary capability. Yet these tools cannot make moral judgments. They execute commands without conscience.

If we combine such technology with authoritarian power, we risk creating a society without compassion.

At the same time, we continue to see religious conflicts. When we forget the deeper unity behind different traditions, we divide ourselves once again.

When we observe these tendencies, we recognize a familiar pattern: the separation of spirit and reason.

Why Did Religions Become Divided?

According to The Laws of the Sun, after the hell appeared, the relationship between the spiritual world and the physical world changed. Human lifespans shortened. Direct spiritual interaction became limited. The guardian spirit system was established, and great spiritual leaders appeared throughout history.

However, as materialism spread, we gradually lost awareness of the spiritual world. We allowed religions to become divided.

Originally, religion exists to protect the human heart. When we forget this purpose, we lose its essence.

A Chapter of Reflection

When we read Chapter 5 carefully, we see that it is a chapter of reflection.

What have we truly learned throughout this long history?
What have we forgotten?

Chapter 6, “The Path to El Cantare,” moves from reflection to development. It teaches us that those who lived in Mu or Atlantis are not strangers from the distant past. We are those souls. Their memories remain within us.

When we read this history deeply, we no longer see mythology. We see our own story.

Where Are We Standing Now?

As we reflect honestly, we may sense that we are standing at a similar point to the final era of Atlantis.

Once again, we face the possibility of division between spirit and reason.

If we wish to avoid repeating history, we must integrate spiritual awakening with scientific advancement. We must cultivate intelligence without abandoning wisdom. We must develop technology without losing compassion.

If we allow The Laws of the Sun to become the spiritual backbone of our civilization, and if we build scientific progress upon that foundation, we may truly enter a Golden Age.

Perhaps we are here in this era for that very purpose.

When we accept Chapter 5 as our own history, then the path described in Chapter 6 becomes our own path forward.
